Scepticism was how I approached homeopathy! When I learnt that Denise Netherton, who was already a patient of mine, was training to be a homeopath it was not long before I made her aware of my views on alternative medicine. She introduced me to the subject enthusiastically and very professionally; she led me to a point when I decided to try it for myself.

Several conditions were investigated and assisted to varying degrees; however the most obvious result was easing my allergy to pollen. For many years since childhood I had suffered, twice in each season, with appalling irritation to my nose and eyes. Treatment by Mrs Netherton for the first three months of each year for two consecutive years has reduced my discomfort to about two sneezes since January, despite the very high pollen levels recorded in April and May of this year.

It is not reasonable to conclude that this improvement had no connection to the homeopathic treatment provided; as no other remedies, such as antihistamine, have been used this season.

My initial scepticism must be satisfied on that basis!

My mum first took me to see Denise because I was suffering from severe period pains; these were so bad that I was having to miss school for one or two days each month and over the counter painkillers did not help at all. Firstly Denise gave me a remedy to help control the pains when they started – this worked really well, the pain went away within about half an hour, which paracetamol and ibuprofen could not do. Then for the second month Denise worked on stopping the pains from coming. I only had to take three tiny pills during the month and I couldn’t believe it when I got virtually no pain the next time. It was fantastic. Denise has also helped me with mouth ulcers and other emotional problems.
