Visiting a Homeopath

I like to spend 1 to 1&1/2 hours with a patient during the first consultation. This is to establish an understanding of all your symptoms and your background; I will do this by asking a variety of questions some of which may seem a little strange, such as whether you have any food cravings or often feel thirsty. I also ask patients to complete a questionnaire and bring it along to the first consultation. I find that using a questionnaire gives patients time to think and remember some of the details from their past, especially when considering their own and their family medical history, but if a patient prefers not to complete the questionnaire we can work together without one. During the consultation I will also find time to answer any questions you may have.

Follow up consultations will be shorter, lasting from 30 - 45 minutes. This gives an opportunity to discuss, and then assess, how well the remedy is working and review whether any further action is required. The length of time between the initial consultation and next appointment will depend on you, the existing symptoms, and how much treatment you have already received: this can vary from days to weeks or months. The interval between any follow-ups will also be geared to your individual symptoms and need.

As I believe it is very important that you feel comfortable with your homeopath I am happy to offer a free 15 minute appointment so that you can meet me and ask any general questions before booking the first consultation.

At all times patient confidentiality is important and respected. As a professional homeopath I also operate according to the Society of Homeopaths Code of ethics and practice. www.homeopathy-soh.org
